M\u00e9xico por cuatro mil 200 millones de d\u00f3lares<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Redacci\u00f3n Informante<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El grupo espa\u00f1ol de energ\u00eda y agua&nbsp;<strong>Cox<\/strong>&nbsp;comprar\u00e1 a<strong>&nbsp;Iberdrola<\/strong>&nbsp;su&nbsp;<strong>filial en M\u00e9xico<\/strong>&nbsp;por cuatro mil 200 millones de d\u00f3lares, cantidad que incluye la deuda financiera neta y la participaci\u00f3n de accionistas minoritarios en filiales.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/grupocox.com\/cox-compra-iberdrola-mexico-por-4-200-millones-de-dolares\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Ambas compa\u00f1\u00edas comunicaron<\/a>&nbsp;este jueves 31 de julio de 2025 a la Comisi\u00f3n Nacional del Mercado de Valores (CNMV) de&nbsp;<strong>Espa\u00f1a<\/strong>&nbsp;la compra de la totalidad del capital de&nbsp;<strong>Iberdrola M\u00e9xico<\/strong>, que concentra todos los negocios y activos energ\u00e9ticos del grupo espa\u00f1ol en aquel pa\u00eds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La transacci\u00f3n incluye una capacidad instalada operativa de dos mil 600 megavatios (MW), de los que mil 368 MW corresponden a centrales de ciclo combinado y cogeneraci\u00f3n y otros mil 232 MW a activos renovables, y una cartera de proyectos de generaci\u00f3n de 12 gigavatios (GW), seg\u00fan las cifras aportadas por Cox.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Adem\u00e1s, incorpora la mayor suministradora de M\u00e9xico con el 25 por ciento de cuota de mercado y m\u00e1s de 20 teravatios por hora (TWh) repartidos entre m\u00e1s de 500 grandes clientes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A medida que esos proyectos se vayan completando, el comprador realizar\u00eda pagos a Iberdrola adicionales a los cuatro mil 170 millones de d\u00f3lares acordados, se\u00f1alan en la comunicaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cox abonar\u00e1 a la empresa espa\u00f1ola Iberdrola a la firma del contrato 35 millones de d\u00f3lares, que se descontar\u00e1n del importe que se pague al cierre de esta operaci\u00f3n, sometida a las condiciones suspensivas habituales en este tipo de transacciones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La transacci\u00f3n supone un m\u00faltiplo de valoraci\u00f3n de 1,6 millones de d\u00f3lares por MW operativo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La valoraci\u00f3n de Iberdrola M\u00e9xico acordada podr\u00eda verse modificada en funci\u00f3n de la fecha de cierre de la operaci\u00f3n, entre el cuarto trimestre de 2025 y el primer trimestre de 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cox completa su Plan Estrat\u00e9gico con tres a\u00f1os de antelaci\u00f3n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Con esta compra Cox completa su plan estrat\u00e9gico (2025-2028) tres a\u00f1os antes de lo previsto y cerrar\u00e1 este a\u00f1o con una cifra de ventas proforma cercana a los tres mil millones de euros y 750 millones de euros de resultado bruto (ebitda), seg\u00fan explica en un comunicado.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La compa\u00f1\u00eda integrar\u00e1 tambi\u00e9n la plantilla de m\u00e1s de 800 profesionales de Iberdrola en M\u00e9xico.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>M\u00e9xico es un mercado estrat\u00e9gico para Cox, donde prev\u00e9 invertir m\u00e1s de 10 mil 700 millones de d\u00f3lares en el periodo 2025-2030, incluyendo la compra anunciada este jueves, adem\u00e1s de cuatro mil millones de d\u00f3lares en nuevos activos energ\u00e9ticos y otros mil 500 millones en concesiones de agua.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La operaci\u00f3n, dice Cox, es una inversi\u00f3n estrat\u00e9gica, alineada con los objetivos de la compa\u00f1\u00eda de invertir en activos que generen ebitda recurrente y a largo plazo, tal como plante\u00f3 en su salida a Bolsa el pasado mes de
