En el proceso tambi\u00e9n se habla con los familiares y amigos para saber m\u00e1s acerca de los s\u00edntomas y el comportamiento del afectado, para&nbsp;<strong>tener un diagn\u00f3stico preciso.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">La enfermedad<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>El Alzheimer es una\u00a0<strong>enfermedad neurodegenerativa<\/strong>, un tipo de demencia que\u00a0<strong>causa problemas con la memoria, el pensamiento y el comportamiento.\u00a0<\/strong>Los s\u00edntomas generalmente se desarrollan lentamente y empeoran con el tiempo, hasta que son tan graves que interfieren con las tareas cotidianas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Es la forma m\u00e1s com\u00fan de demencia, un t\u00e9rmino que se aplica a la p\u00e9rdida de memoria y otras habilidades cognitivas que interfieren con la vida cotidiana;&nbsp;<strong>su factor de riesgo m\u00e1s conocido e importante es el aumento de la edad,<\/strong>&nbsp;ya que la mayor\u00eda de quienes lo padecen son mayores de 65 a\u00f1os, no obstante, en los \u00faltimos tiempos se tiene registro de casos que afectan a personas cada vez m\u00e1s j\u00f3venes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tras detectarse los s\u00edntomas evidentes de la enfermedad, las personas con Alzheimer&nbsp;<strong>viven un promedio de ocho a\u00f1os,&nbsp;<\/strong>pero la supervivencia puede oscilar entre cuatro y 20 a\u00f1os, lo cual depender\u00e1 de su condici\u00f3n de salud.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Como es sabido,&nbsp;<strong>no tiene cura.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>Sab\u00edas que&#8230; Pese a ser la enfermedad cr\u00f3nica que genera m\u00e1s coste social y econ\u00f3mico, el&nbsp;<strong>Alzheimer recibe 10 veces menos inversi\u00f3n en investigaci\u00f3n que otras patolog\u00edas<\/strong>&nbsp;como el c\u00e1ncer o las enfermedades del coraz\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">El hallazgo<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Teniendo como antecedente todas las complicaciones para ubicar la enfermedad, cient\u00edficos de la Universidad de Tokio lograron&nbsp;<strong>un avance significativo en su detecci\u00f3n;<\/strong>&nbsp;encontraron la manera de identificar acumulaciones de prote\u00ednas relacionadas con el Alzheimer en muestras de sangre de pacientes con s\u00edntomas muy leves o incluso asintom\u00e1ticos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El estudio incluy\u00f3 el an\u00e1lisis de muestras de sangre de 474 personas que mostraban signos leves de deterioro cognitivo o ning\u00fan signo midiendo los&nbsp;<strong>niveles de prote\u00ednas beta amiloide y tau<\/strong>, caracter\u00edsticas de la afecci\u00f3n, mismas que pudieron identificar en sus primeras etapas, sin necesidad de procedimientos invasivos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Los resultados fueron publicados en la revista especializada\u00a0Alzheimer\u2019s Research and Therapy, los cuales recibi\u00f3 con entusiasmo la comunidad cient\u00edfica. Takeshi Iwatsubo, l\u00edder del proyecto indic\u00f3 que, \u201cLos hallazgos podr\u00edan\u00a0<strong>allanar el camino hacia un diagn\u00f3stico mucho m\u00e1s temprano utilizando un simple an\u00e1lisis de sangre en el futuro\u201d<\/strong>, aunque tambi\u00e9n advirti\u00f3 que la \u201cpoblaci\u00f3n de estudio es relativamente peque\u00f1a\u201d, por lo que la investigaci\u00f3n \u201ctiene varias limitaciones, debe verificarse en estudios futuros\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u00bfFuturo promisorio?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Seg\u00fan la\u00a0<strong>Organizaci\u00f3n Mundial de la Salud<\/strong>\u00a0(OMS), hoy en d\u00eda hay 47 millones de personas afectadas por demencias como el Alzheimer, una cifra que podr\u00eda aumentar considerablemente en las pr\u00f3ximas d\u00e9cadas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>No obstante, se estima que para el a\u00f1o 2060, aproximadamente una quinta parte de las personas mayores de 65 a\u00f1os podr\u00edan sufrir de demencia, por ello, tener&nbsp;<strong>un m\u00e9todo de diagn\u00f3stico r\u00e1pido, certero y accesible<\/strong>&nbsp;como el desarrollado por el equipo
